When I Meet You One Day When I meet you one day (one day) will you know to see me Will you draw toward me instinctively and will you stay When I meet you one day (one day) will the words be spoken in a silent moment unseen in an evident way I know what I will do when I discover you I know what I'll say when I meet you one day When I meet you one day (one day) will we crumble helpless in a rush of moments so terrible in their relief When I meet you one day (one day) will we tumble hopeless in a brush of fate that leaves everyone in disbelief Admittedly I hold so little promise, though I know what I'll say when I meet you one day Well I know the grey that fortunes hold so unstable as a future sold and I know that changes often run from time but I can't degrade a will of soul and I won't defame the strength I own so I'll keep the farthest distance from the crime When I meet you one day (one day) will a pure conviction put away the fiction of hope as the food of the lame When I meet you one day (one day) Will the tired jury run away or hurry to parcel out more of the same I know what I will see when you discover me I know what I'll say when I meet you one day

about

In 2008 after the death of bassist Gord Bell, the remaining Stray Katz secured a practice space in Etobicoke, Ont., and began rehearsals for what was to be a new band—The Phantom Theatre (a name chosen to honor and include Gord). Songs were written and sound equipment was purchased. A logo and website were designed and a lot more, but through the summer, things never quite gelled and it soon became apparent that the chemistry that had been the Stray Katz had suffered a permanent loss. So the Phantom Theatre shut its doors and the remaining Stray Katz drifted off to where Stray Katz go.

The tracks in this collection represent some of the songs that the Phantom Theatre began working on. There are no vocals as the recordings were not originally intended for general listening but were produced as material by which band members could practice the songs outside of full live rehearsal.
