My tongue was firmly planted in my cheek when I came up with this title, based on an expression often heard at my workplace. People would walk into the building after a weekend, roll their eyes at the prospect of another workweek and sarcastically say, “Well, I guess it’s another day in Happyland.”

The song is about coping strategies (healthy or otherwise) in a not-so perfect world and the delusions people often feed themselves. The upbeat tempo serves as a counterpoint to the theme, and the middle section (scripted from the Beatles’ “A Day in the Life”) pays homage to John Lennon. I really miss that guy.

Instrumentation: piano strings, slap bass, drums, percussion, flute, tube-double guitar, Stratocaster, tubular bells.
