Bad Girl (3:52)

I really love this song, originally recorded live with a Korg Lambda synthesizer and a Korg 100 drum machine while I was co-owner of the now-defunct four-track recording studio called Midnight Productions. A song about how we’re often attracted to the wrong kinds of people, “Bad Girl” was crafted with a Beatlesque backbeat and bass line, then overlaid with driving organ progressions and an electric guitar to really define the melody. I forgot about the original recording after Midnight Productions folded, then revived it after discovering the demo in a box of decaying cassettes. Musically and thematically, this song was kept free of progressive influences, and was written to be radio-friendly and saleable.

Instrumentation: Stratocaster, thump bass, D-50 organ, distorted guitar, brass ensemble, drums, percussion.
