While the Police didn’t musically influence me to any great degree (beyond wondering when Sting would finally snap a vocal cord), I liked the deep, growling bass notes so prevalent on “Reggatta de Blanc,” and decided to craft similar notes as a prelude and denouement for a pop song simply asking people to remember love, its joys and wonders, and importance as a primal life force. I was also looking for the right song in which to go a bit nuts with leads.
"Do You Remember Love?" is a complete reworking of “Stay in Bed,” the last demo recorded by the Stray Katz.
Sensual and shy, do you remember
remember love
tossing and turning and dreaming of above
Frightening and frail, do you remember
your first embrace
ready and hesitant the arms that interlaced
You can’t move mountains in a stone romance
You can’t make love unless you take a chance
Come on, you can remember
Your heart will find a way
Trembling and wild, do you remember
your first slow dance
moving and measuring the meaning of a glance
Laughing in the wind, do you remember
that long first drive
colors and kisses, feeling good to be alive
You can’t move mountains in a stone romance
You can’t make love unless you take a chance
Come on, you can remember
Your heart will find a way
Sensual and shy, do you remember
remember love
tossing and turning and dreaming of above
Frightening and frail, do you remember
your first embrace
ready and hesitant the arms that interlaced
You can’t move mountains in a stone romance
You can’t make love unless you take a chance
Come on, you can remember
Your heart will find a way
In Adrian Snood’s songs, soulful vocals and slow-moving alt-pop swirl together to create something distinctly moving. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 1, 2023
