Foreign Three (5:35) – Instrumental

This was my first serious effort to blend different time signatures into one work. “Foreign Three” stands for four and three, or four-four and three-four time, a favorite time-signature pairing within the compositions of Yes. Admittedly, the title isn’t the most creative one in the world, but after hours of banging my head against a desk while tangling with a spate of writer’s block, the title sounded better than “666, the Area Code of the Beast" or some of the other insane titles I’d desperately invented.

Instrumentation: piano strings, Rhodes piano, drums, percussion, slap bass, steel-string acoustic guitars, tube-double guitar, Film Layers effect.
