Although I’d toyed with parts of this song back in the 1970s in tandem with “Ode to Joy,” I finally gave this song form and its own life in the mid-1990s. I’d later use this recording as a template to re-record “The Horseman” for inclusion on “Russia.” Recording equipment: Roland D-10 synth, Trax MIDI software, original Windows system, Toshiba laptop. Original recording from degraded 20-year-old audio tape, re-mastered as best as possible given the condition of the source material.
